With origins in the Native American tribes of the Pacific Northwest, plank-cooking has developed into a gourmet cooking technique that is exceptionally easy to master. Plank-cooking works by charring the pre-soaked plank during cooking which then imparts the unique smokey flavour of the wood choice. The planks charcoalize and cook from the bottom up and work in the conventional oven as well as on gas/propane grills, direct-heat charcoal grills, smokers, and open pits.
SmokinLicious has been innovative by offering two sides to our gourmet planks - the traditional smooth and the Flavour Pockets. Because our planks are not smooth-sanded but are open porous, they release a much more intense wood flavouring when exposed to heat. We offer three unique products in our plank line:

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PLANKS: As a result of harvesting woods in the Northeast, the availability of specific hardwood species is dependent on weather and the conditions of the forest. As a result, we cannot guarantee that a specific species of wood (i.e. Wild Cherry, Sugar Maple, Red Oak, or White Oak) will be available in our plank-cooking line at the time of your order. Therefore, when ordering the 3-pack of the large cooking plank, please be advised that if the three wood species are not available when your order is placed, we will substitute another species that is available. This may result in receiving only one or two wood species rather than the assortment of three. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Large Cooking Plank
To provide an opportunity to cook pork roasts, large cuts of beef, an entire fish or larger cuts of poultry, our 18.145cm W X 29.84cm L X 1.27cm D (7 1/4" W x 11 3/4" L x 1/2" D) cooking planks are perfect for the gas/charcoal grill, smoker or conventional oven. These large planks are offered with two cooking sides: smooth and flavour pockets. Our flavour pockets cooking planks have 10 "pockets" drilled into one side of the plank to allow the cook the option of pouring additional liquid flavour directly into the pockets or placing slices of fruit over the holes, thus, imparting even more flavour into the foods.

Plank & Vine Pack

Providing a single large cooking plank in Wild Cherry, Sugar Maple, or Oak, the Plank & Vine Pack includes 6 grapevine skewers that are used exactly like a metal or wood barbecue skewer: simply place cubes of your favorite meats, fish, or poultry, and/or chunks of your favorite fruits and/or vegetables and grill/smoke. Plank Roasting Stand
Providing a means of cooking fish, whole vegetables, or thinner cuts of meat and poultry like flank steak and turkey cutlets, the Plank Roasting Stand is designed for placement near an open pit fire (i.e. campfire, outdoor fire pit) or it can be used on the gas/propane grill. The adjustable legs allow the user the ability to change the angle or position of the stand for optimal cooking affect. Provided in an easy-to-assemble kit, with everything you need except the hammer and food!
